Yep, you need to know how to vertex edit, just click the red brush builder. Then while holding down the alt button, click on a little point of the brush and you should be able to move it around. This causes some major bsp issues though :?

Oh btw X! Be careful of HOM's using custom terrain! If you exceed the maximum threshold of the brushes complexity with vertex editing it will result in a bad HOM that won't be fun to fix :( . Just be sure to not "stretch" the brush too much.

Another tid-bit ...
When you "build" the terrain brush, you use it to Subtract (intersect first) from something - always.
Do not "add" using the terrain brush.

Yes, that is also what I have heard JackO.
That is how I used the terrain editor (brush) also.

Try "GenEarth" package - load it in and look under the different parts like "rocks", etc.
Load in different stock packages and look at them.
Pick an appropriate texture for what you are making.
You can change the textures later if you don't like what you originally applied.

Make sure to "Align" the textures ...
Align to Wall Direction and Align to Wall Panning
OR
Align to Floor / Ceiling
