Hook wrote up about a Bad UT Deck-16 only server.
It may be in the Blog section here in the forum.
It is also in the site part.
Hook's write-up has contributed greatly to the downfall of that particular server!
They, the admins of that server, surely did NOT realize just who they were dealing with! Ha Ha
Hook has a lot of clout and connections in the UT world!
This site is one of the "icons" of UT for over seven years now! |
Yes, JackO - I have been watching that server ever since I wrote about the bad things there!
It was played for awhile, then slowly declined.
Now, every time I look at it NO one is in it ever!
That server doesn't deserve to run!
It is/was a disgrace to UT and should be shunned by UT players! _________________ {xCBx}Hook (Site Administrator)

Be sure to let us know how if it works and how in runs on your new upgraded comp! |
Ok whew! thru some trial and error and lots of anticipation lol I've got ut99 looking, playing and sounding ! good!
I tried D3D 1st and after messing around trying to get the "chppiness" of what I was getting fixed and not being too happy with that, and fixing the sound issue I was getting- had to change latency from 40 to 60. I figured since I'm back with
Nvidia and seeing that it runs openGL much better than ATI, I went thru all the junk to change to openGL renderer and
am happy to report that it looks AWESOME!!! frame rates in the area of 170-200 and smooth as ice!!
Now can i play instead of tweak lol?? hehehe

Chef
PS.. Also of note in connection with the jist of this thread, Lots and lots of folks that I've seen write on
forums are totally disusted with the way that UT3 was made and handled, you may see the ranks of
Ut99 and 2k4 players get back in the UT99 line b4 long..... even my clan has dropped the ut3 servers
for now and gone back to 2k4 and UT99 !! _________________ {xCBx}(Sir)IronChef

Yeah, I actually saw a jump in UT99 players within a month of UT3 coming out! _________________ {xCBx}Hook (Site Administrator)

I play UT3 because of the physics and graphics. It is not a bad game, indeed, it does need to be played a while to get it feeling like ut99 or ut2k4. But online play is very fun, just like ut. Although, it is more of a "Competition" to win than just leisurely winning. Like since since it's a newer game, people treat it more serious. (but as you see my video's in Xfire, I treat it like it's some child's game ) _________________ {xCBx}Shadow342 *Moderator*

Oh, I bet UT3 will evolve and patches will come!
Just like UT99 did
Someday when I get a computer that'll run it, I will probably try it out! _________________ {xCBx}Hook (Site Administrator)
