Heya hook. I thought this might be the correct spot to put this.
First off, I was a little turned off by all the little pics and stuff you have hanging around the site. It is hard for me to navigate around the forums with so many things going on.
Also, I noticed that the forums was loading extremely slow for some reason. It could be all the little gizmo's you have hanging around i mentioned earlier, or it may just be your site host (freeforums). I dont remember it loading pages so slow, about 25 seconds for each page I try to display.
But don't go changing things around just to fit my needs, ask others what they think about it also. To me, a forum is a place for friends and buddies to hang out, and get information quick or to post information quickly.
I also read somewhere that you are having trouble getting your server to run. If you need help setting things up, I have been administrating servers for a couple of years now. I am also pretty good at graphic design too.

The forum loading slow is probably a "host" thing as they are planning an upgrade to phpBB3.
They are doing some revamping on their servers resulting in "slow" times! Sad

I haven't had any slowness problems here myself - so I do not think it is THIS forum itself.

The problem I am having with my UT server isn't setting IT up, but getting it out on the web - my ISP and/or my DSL modem is to blame!
I have to work that out with the ISP sometime soon when I get time!
(This isn't my first time setting up servers - but first time with this ISP & DSL Modem)

Anybody else think we should tone down the portal a bit???
I know I want to get rid of the shoutbox there for sure!
People should post - not use the box all the time!
I MAY keep it but have it available after logging in or on another page!

Ya NP Hook. The forums load much faster now, about 1 second for each page if that.
I'm sorry I do not understand your UT problem. I understand that you can set it up and all, but you are having trouble with others connecting to it? If that is the case, I need to know a little information...
Are there more than one computers in your household? If yes, are you sharing a connection with all of them, such as with a router.
What is the IP address of the server you are hosting, I ask this to make sure it is not running in LAN with an IP such as 192.168 . ect.
And does the server not even show up (you may have to check a box labeled 'advertise server') or does it show up, but the ping says N/A (Not Available)?
