We got a notice from Planet MonsterHunt's admin (Skillz) about GoPostal (aka Kelly) that he hacked into (well he still had access actually) to the PMH Downloads section and Deleted ALL of the files there! 
I wonder what was going on there?

I wonder what Gopostal's side of this is???
Did they do something bad to him?
I would like to hear HIS side of this.
Was it really him???
Did he do it to hurt that site so his will be better than PMH???
GoPostal is starting a New MonsterHunt site - FYI - "Ultimate MonsterHunt" "UMH" or something like that.

Hmm, that doens't sound too cool, no matter the circumstances ... seems like
a lot of weird stories follow this guy, makes ya wonder what's up.........

My thoughts also.
Would still like to know WHY he did it though.
AND I would like to know IF for SURE that he DID do it also!
Just seems kind of a coincidence that he would attack THAT Monster Hunt site just as he is unveiling HIS MonsterHunt site also. 
Well, I am sure it will all come out in the wash. - We'll see I guess!

OK - here is what I found out from Hermskii on this...

Gopo has more intelligence than that - at least that is what I thought also. 
It did not sound like the work of Gopo.
Though, I will be keeping an open mind on this subject.
I will tend to think that Gopo wouldn't stoop to this sort of action!

Did Gopo try to screw up Skillz site because Gopo started his own monster hunt site?
OR
Did someone ELSE do this making it LOOK Like Gopo did it?

Mostly I won't stoop to answering such nonsense. Few people have done more for the MH community than me. Let me explain what happened, and try to clear a few things up. Yes, I left PMH. Why? Because skillz is an ass. He treats people badly, belittles them, and generally is just a jerk. He blamed me for the server ills (the resets, the crashes) but wouldn't let me get access to the core server to fix it. When I showed everyone I couldn't get at the problems to fix them, he publicly belittled me because he was embarrased. Now you can clearly see the support I have given him on the front page (which is still there?? I'd think I'd remove that in anger if I were him??) but what you dont see is the donations of equipment, software, and much more I made to him to help him out when he had everything stolen (again..? Silly me it seems...). It was really bad for him to flame me for his fault, especially after all I was doing. I sent him a little resignation letter and I left. I never posted again..well, sorta...
Now fast forward to a couple weeks back and I'm setting up UMH with Bob, someone Skillz extremely dislikes because he is a member of dU. I thought it might be nice to let the old guys I played with at PMH know what I'm up to so I made a nice (non-nasty) post at pmh. It was simply "Hey we are opening a server group here if you'd like to stop by." Nothing more. The next morning I get up, Skillz has clearly edited an old logfile to make it look like I did something bad, removed my posting, and accused me. Only later did he relent and admit there was an original post by me because killerbee caught him up in it. It only went downhill for him from there. That thread has been heavily edited by Skillz too if you have followed it. Posts supporting me have been removed.
Guys, use logic here. I'm going to screw with his stuff from MY STATIC IP, using a login that skillz happened to "forget" to delete, leave logs of my transgression behind, and only delete a few easily replaceable files, and all of this months after I leave? BTW, I'm not even hosting downloads besides the few custom scripts I have made worth sharing. This was a shabby frame-job and he has bailed on shoring it up as it has so many holes it can't float. He thought he was going to make it look like I was trying to funnel people away by deleting his downloads. (Which he "lost" and can't find? Anyone bother to check timestamps on the "new" ones? I'd be interested to see if they match.) I'll tell you this, if I chose to damage PMH and I had access, I would have burned the place to the ground, used a proxy, and no one would ever be able to guess what happened. I certainly have the skill for it, but not the desire.
Skillz is angry. He has no coder, a failing site, empty servers and bad publicity beats no publicity. You guys have your rights to your opinions, but I've helped most of you at one time or another with something. Have you ever seen me attack anyone? Ever seen me seek revenge? This sort of thing is kind of fun to sit back and debate but I'd hope common sense would win out.
BTW Chef, I'd like to know what you mean by "a lot of weird stories". That's a bit of an accusation.

That Explanation from Gopostal is Good Enough for Me! 
I had kept a mostly neutral open mind about this because I didn't Really know the whole story.
I totally believe Gopostal as what he said not only makes logical sense, but it is TRUE.
Gopostal - SOOOO Glad you stopped in to clear this up!
My sites are VERY in tune with the search engines like Google and such so this WILL be "Out There" on the web so to speak, for ALL to view!

What really happened at Planet Monster Hunt (aka PlanetMonsterhunt or Planet MonsterHunt ) concerning Gopostal (aka Gopo ), Skillz (aka skillz ) and the so-called "missing" files and the so-called attack on Planet MonsterHunt!

Having worked AND played with GoPostal on numerous occasions, I have no reason to doubt his character.
It's nice of you to come here & clear the air and yes, you COULD have totally "gone postal" and nuked the site if you were really out for revenge / spite.

Well, I heard that gopostal was an alien from another planet...how weird is that...
Actually I have nothing but respect for gopostal and I believe every word he says.
He has gone out of his way to help me with UT issues and has even educated me
in the fine art of using my own personal computer.
I do not see a mean bone in his persona.

I'm probably 90% "dont really care" what people think about this, but it bothered me that Hook felt some ambiguity about it (Enough that it compelled me to answer). Do me a favor Hook: Don't let this turn into a street fight. Skillz has spoken at length about this and I've stayed quiet. I really would like it to go away, as I've lost a couple of friends over it. He's said his side, and I guess I've said mine. I don't want to answer questions or go defending my honor any more so would you lock this if it starts to degrade? Thanks, and I appreciate you letting me have a chance to speak.

As I have a life and busy career, I have like 5 minutes to scan these forums and get what I can from them, if I've gotten the wrong info about you Im sorry, I try to get the most out of the forums, info wise and go on to the next. If I've erre'd, my apoligies man ! only want to do one thing, promote ut99 in the best light possible, as you can tell, chef hates haxxors!!! if I've mistakenly added you to those ranks my apologies and some of the "special brownies" are on the way
