Comcast Cable Internet - Ups Speed! - 4/7/08 Very Happy
By Hook

With the extreme competition in Internet Access, in a move to attract more subscribers, Comcast announced that it is Upping its Maximum Internet Speed account to the following ...

* Download Speed = 50,000,000 bits/sec. - (6,250,000 bytes/sec. - 6,103kb/sec. - 5.96mb/sec.)
* Upload Speed = 5,000,000 bits/sec. - (625,000 bytes/sec. - 610.4kb/sec. - .6mb/sec.)

Cost for this New Speed will be $150.00 per month says Comcast.
This new speed will be first available in the USA in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Many other cities across the USA will also have this speed available soon after.

Not exactly cheap for the average user at all.
It is a pretty high cost for most users and most users would not really benefit by it, but businesses and some consumers who may need the high speed will like its cost.
Consumers that will appreciate the higher speed would be Heavy Gamers and users that Download alot of Videos, etc.
Again, Comcast is soon introducing this New Higher Speed starting in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, and will follow with a number of other cites across the country says Comcast.

Comcast also says that users who do not upgrade to this new higher speed will still receive a slight speed boost without additional cost, mainly in the "Upload" speed of their account.
Comcast did not say how much of a boost this would be however.

Sparked by Comcasts commpetitive announcement, Other Internet providers say that they will also follow suite by offering higher speeds as soon as they are able.
Hopefully, all the providers will up the speed for our current, normal user accounts!
Put some pressure on YOUR own ISP (Internet Service Provider) so they will up the speed for your account!
