Hook's UT Place

Please - NO offense to Hermskii, MEAT or RAIN
(they all run Redeemer servers & Hermskii also runs a Monster Hunt server in addition!
These are very good servers & you should give them a try!
If you have never played Redeemer Insanity, you Must Experience it! LOL
Also Monster Hunt - It is quite different - Oh well back to my topic! arg.

Lately, the server I frequent the most is called:

Another that comes in 2nd, run by the same group is called:

Server IP: 205.218.67.208.7777

Both these servers run great for me & I love the Zark Rifle they use!
The Zark Rifle is a rapid fire automatic that is very accurate & has an unlimited distance & also a 1 or 2 hit kill!
You will have to try it to see what I mean!
I also love the "report" the weapons give on these servers when you hit an apponent!
It gives a "Doink" sound when hitting an enemy! - Great!
These 2 servers have a very good line-up of add-ons that really seem to make the online game experience very nice!
(I have these mods & rifles available for download on my regular UT site)

Anybody else have some Favorite UT99 servers?

You know it's near impossible to find a UT server that doesn't run a mod these days. I'm thinking about starting another that is just plain basic UT DeathMatch only with no mods and only default maps. Nothing against modded servers mind you but I do remember how to play real DeathMatch and was really good once upon a time. To find a straight server now-a-days is hard. Your thoughts except for MEAT'S! LOL. Yes, I drew BLOOD 1st!

There are a few basic UT servers out there.
I myself have been a purest from time to time & still do play these servers.
"Old Skool" is generally what they call 'em.
I do like these servers quite a bit.
Nothing erks me more than a server wih every mod out there on it! Evil or Very Mad

I do like those 2 "Zark" servers I mentioned above. - Fast & fun with a few nice frills but not too over the top! Wink

I myself would welcome & play on a basic UT server! Mr. Green

As for me - I have put up servers in the past occasionally.
I have been kicking that idea around again for some time now!
I used to have "Hook's UT Place public server" - or something to that effect several years ago.
It was pretty "pure" with very little if any add-ons.
Been itching to put it up again on weekends - late night.
Maybe I will again! Cool

StrangeLove is fun if your into that type of mod. I'm pretty sure it has been built for both UT99 and UT2K4. One of our original deemer only servers was a StrangLove server called "Missile Madness". A guy named DeadSun ran it for years. He walked away and gave to server to someone who was going to fire her back up but didn't.

BTW, I remeber why I haven't started another plain DeathMatch server. Too many cheaters. Too hard to keep it cheat free. It just isn't worth it to me.
