Zero Motorcycles Announces New Sales Channel in Australia and New Zealand

MELBOURNE, Australia June 15th 2009– Zero Motorcycles, based in Santa Cruz, California, today announced the opening of Zero Motorcycles Australia, which will coordinate sales and distribution of Zero’s motorcycles throughout Australia and New Zealand. Zero Motorcycles Australia will be the exclusive distributor of the off-road Zero X and the motocross-ready Zero MX.

“The opening of Zero Motorcycles Australia continues our international expansion efforts by giving trail and motocross riders from across Australia and New Zealand a new zero-emission alternative for dirtbike riding,” said Zero Motorcycles Founder and CTO, Neal Saiki.

“We are proud to be representing Zero Motorcycles here in Australia and New Zealand. Being the first all-electric high performance motorcycle on the Australian market, these revolutionary bikes are sure to change the way we see motorcycles,” said Phil Wilkinson, director of Zero Motorcycles Australia.

Both the Zero X and Zero MX are zero-emission electric dirtbikes which are powered by Zero Motorcycles’ patented Z-Force battery pack. The Z-Force lithium ion battery is 100 percent recyclable, non-toxic and landfill approved. Zero Motorcycles’ lightweight frames are made of aircraft grade aluminum-alloy making the Zero X and Zero MX much lighter and better handling than their gas powered counterparts.

Zero Motorcycles Australia, an independent business owned and operated by PDW Imports P/L under the Zero Motorcycles name, will begin sales of the Zero X and Zero MX starting in July of 2009. The distribution centre for Zero Motorcycles Australia will be based in Vermont Vic, 20km east of Melbourne.
