NEW Section - UT99 File Exchange...(coming)
UT, or more specifically UT99 or UT1, will be 10 years old this coming November, 2009.
UT99 is aging and getting very old and "Rarer" by the day!
Because of this, a lot of UT99 sites are disappearing and/or UT99 sections IN or ON General UT sites are either disappearing or folding up altogether!
(We need to Promote UT99 more and more - but that is another article/post!)
Because of this, for us UT99 enthusiasts, it is becoming more and more Important to Preserve anything UT, or more specifically Anything for UT99.
This would be Maps, Mods, Mutators, UT utilities and Applications or any files that were made for UT99.
It doesn't help to promote UT99 if you haven't got anything for the prospective UT99 player to install on his computer!
That being said and I imagine totally understood by all you UT99 fans, I am planning for this at HUTP.
I am going to start what I call
The UT99 File Exchange. (name for now)
I will be creating a new Section for this.
In this new section...What I would like to do, at least to start, is to have members here at HUTP Post what UT99 files they have on there computers.
Post them under the correct file type in the UT99 File Exchange section.
For now, Just a list would be necessary.
Then, if another member is looking for a specific file like say a mod for "Translocator Arena", he could look through the mod section at the posts of different HUTP members to see if any of them have that mod.
He may even do a "Search" of the forum using the forum search tool.
The asking member could then PM (Private Message) or e-mail the member that has that mod and obtain a copy of the file in question.
We, HUTP, MAY even actually HOST the files here as this is possible and is even more desirable.
An Example of a posted listing of a file might go like this...

MOD: Translocator Arena - Description: Play with ONLY the Translocator - File Size: 23kb
MOD: Bubble Gun - Description: ALL weapons only shoot bubbles - File Size: 48kbI think this will be a Really Good thing for keeping UT99 alive.
I see more and more people contacting me (and others) looking for old maps, mods and/or some sort of UT99 file(s) that are now hard to find.
A lot of these file seekers are NEW Players just starting in UT99.
I myself have many gigs worth of UT99 files!
Many of these files I do not even know what they are and have never tried them.
Some are little known.
I used to DownLoad almost every UT99 file I could find - just in case I might someday want it.
I know some of our members have just a huge load of UT99 files also.
Look for this New UT99 File Exchange section coming SOON!
