I saw this tip on the Atari forums:
Go to Unrealtourmament.ini Find bHidden=True and bFallbackFactories=True Replace those with bHidden=False and bFallbackFactories=False
Works like a charm.
Regarding in answer to this post ... Currently, all servers in my favorites are showing OK.. but when trying to >pull the DM list, I get no list. CTF only shows 3 servers .... WTF?
Beggin th cap'ns pardn, sar, but what does this change in the .ini?

Yes what exactly is this supposed to do for your game?
It sounds like a gag, did you hear this from a reliable source? or was it some random guy on the atari forums who posted this?
also how long ago was this post?
some more background info should help

Does this EavyServerBrowser work for just UT99?
I have seen it posted for UT2004 also.
Is it "Safe" to install?
Can you remove it?
I wish I knew WHAT exactly it does!

Eavy Server Browser is the smallest, quietest, best working little mod EVER. Yes, you can install it for UT99 and that is it. Yes, it can be uninstalled I think but why would you want to. It rules. It makes it so that when you click on any tab for searching for servers like the DeathMatch tab, rather than waiting about a minute or two for the list to populate it only takes about 10 seconds max.
Try it. You'll love it. You'll install it on ever UT machine you have. Serious! I approve of this meassage.

Weird things!
Every time I browse for servers, the dang Eavy Browser screws up my DSL router/modem and it reboots!
Kinda blows the time advantage!

Yes, this IS a BIG Problem!
When the UT server browser hits about 50 to 55% loaded, the DSL router/modem goes haywire and spends the next couple of minutes rebooting, etc.
I gotta get rid of this or fix it - one or the other for sure!
This is nuts!

Oh, can you modify (or customize) your UT browser tabs with Eavy Server Browser?

Yes, is what JackO asking true?
Now if only Eavy Server Browser worked for me as it does for everyone else - that would be awesome!

Please somebody else tell me that they too use this mod and it works well for them. I hate to think I would have ever sent somebody the wrong way and I don't think I ever have. There must be something wrong with your set-up Hook. I'm telling you that this little mod rules. Did you ever get it fugured out and now that I think about it, were you using several different Master Servers than the originals? I would think the mod points to the originals and likely works wonders on the EPIC server at least. I need Gopo to look at that and tell me how it works.

Yes, anybody else have ANY problems with Eavy Server Browser for UT99???
Yes, Gopo should look at it and tell us how it works OR - better yet - maybe even UPDATE it!

Gopo looked at it and sent me the code. It is all good to go. Here is what it does. It sets the settings that UT uses to search for servers. The difference is only that back when UT was made, it expected everybodyto be on 56k so when it polled for servers it waited for "we'll say" 10 seconds after polling each master server for results. Well Eavey Server browser does everything the exact same way except it polls the master servers "we'll say" every 2 seconds which is the only reason it seems 5 times faster.
The mod "SHOULD" work perfectly for everybody! I knew it was good stuff!

Thanks Hermskii!
That makes me feel better about Eavey Server Browser for UT.
However it Still messes up my router/modem and it isn't much faster than my regular UT Browser.
But, that is ONLY my problem.
NO ONE ELSE that I know of has ANY problems with Eavey Server Browser, so don't hesitate to try it!
I'll have to figure out what the problem is with MY set up on my own.
Maybe Gopo could redo Eavey Server Browser so that it is Adjustable by the user!?!?
Maybe with an ini file to go with it? (That'd be cool)

I already tried to lean him in that direction and he was clear with me that nothing he would do could make it better than it is. He said we can alter our own UT.ini to search other browsers instead of the default ones and that mod would still work exactly the same way. He said there is no need to try to improve it. It already rules.

Ya, sorry for not getting back here & seeing any follow-ups sooner. But for me, it does work great & I was able to find out how to add new tabs (like the populated AS servers only tab). If I recall correctly, I just added in this extra line (in bold) within my UT.ini file to make only the Assault servers come up faster: [UBrowserAS] ListFactories[0]=UBrowser.UBrowserSubsetFact,SupersetTag=UBrowserAll,GameType=Assault ListFactories[1]=LeagueAS-CP.AS_Browser,GameType=Assaultand also added under the [Engine.GameEngine]: ServerActors=LeagueAS-SP.ServerUplink unreal.epicgames.com MasterServerPort=27900 ServerActors=LeagueAS-SP.ServerUplink master0.gamespy.com MasterServerPort=27900 as well as the LeagueAS files I got too. I know I saw a website long ago on how to add more tabs & just show the servers that are populated only, but I doubt it's still around. Btw, don't ask me how to do it, I don't remember that far back now. P.S.- Eavy's stuff is still good though!I should also add that it's in the same fashion as when the MH tab was done too, fast to only those servers.

You know Flatus, we just MAY be able to come up with a Populated Only server tab on our own. Maybe by taking a look at the Populated Servers tab and the other tabs, then incorporating that into a new tab. I gotta look at this some more! With UT99 servers getting sparser, this would be a heck of a good thing to do to the UT Browser!
