Hook's UT Place - {CMM} 68.232.184.58:7777

I've been an avid UT fan since 2000, and I haven't gone up to any other game besides UT GOTY because to me, it may have gone "Futuristic", but it doesn't have the classic gaming UT GOTY does.

I've recently had time to get back into it and I've began to look into mapping, creating my first map here today, or should I say starting it.

Welcome! Glad to see there are still many avid mappers out there both new and old. And yeah, I agree about the new ut's, they're a little "off" somewhat and focus on less hardcore and more new players. A bigger way to bring in the $$$ I guess, can't please your everyday gamer and hardcore players without some money sacrifice .

Well, you have certainly come to the right site and forum!
We (most of us) are die-hard UT fans!
No one that I know of is more dedicated to UT99 than Hook.
And if you need help mapping at all, here is where it is at too.
Hook has vast information at his disposal.

I have always said this...
I will have the Last UT Site and forum and the very last UT server running!
Another member here has also said this - Hermskii.
We are both very dedicated to UT99.
Many others are also.
Some come and go and some come back too!

YES - try mapping!
It is a very rewarding experience indeed.
Just think of it.
Anything that you can come up with in your mind - you can generally do as a map!

Also, we have an ALL Members map that currently is residing with ahem myself.
I have just not had the time to get to it but I do think about what I want to do with it.
If, possibly, when you are up to it, maybe you could do a bit with it also in your turn!

We will put these maps (and any member's maps) on our server also!
I am really glad to have several new mappers here!
We UT99 mappers are getting scarcer every day!

Yeah, I may have another Sniper Arena soon, as I love sniper arenas myself.

BUT, I am thinking this weekend to have a "FAT BOY" server with the redeemer arena.
Fat boy gets kinda interesting! LOL
It is one way to get back at MEAT.

JackO: Thanks, and I'm sure it'll be nothing special as you guys are great and I just started.

Hook: I'd love to take part in the map if my skills are up to par with yours. Mappers may be getting scarce, but we'll forever stand strong.

HELLSNIPER: Thanks for the welcome.

Map should be released here in the next week, as I said it's nothing special as I'm trying to learn, so it's rather "blocky" and less architectual than I'd like to see coming from my maps. But I have faith I should beable to pick up and go in a short period of time.

I've been around the UT scene for a long time and take avid passion in web design more than anything in life, next to UT, so I'm hoping I can combine the 2 some how and create a site for my maps, skins and such (UTKaged.com)

I rarely see a map that I don't like - or at least I can offer some suggestions to.
This is what we are here for.
We won't ridicule any map here like they did on NaliCity or Beyond Unreal!
Some (but not all) of those SO CALLED map critics there were VERY POOR at what they were TRYING to do.
Some of their critics blatantly showed how little they knew about mapping!
It was SOOOO Obvious - they should have been embarrassed by what they wrote, but I guess they didn't know that it showed so bad how ignorant some of them were.

Yah. By the way Hook my map is nearly finished lol

Erm got a problem now. Usually when the editor goes white I'll just go to the Viewports and reset them, but the white will not go away no matter what I do. Any help?

go to your view points selcet new view point n a box should apear with 4 diff set ups try that

I've never had that happen to me.
ALL 4 windows go white?
Are you doing something wrong?
Some people do things like not rebuilding all before saving, etc.

Well I can't even get the box for the viewports to appear once I hover over Configure. Was working fine for years until now.

Hook, this is serious!
Can you figure out what is going on with KagedIn's UnrealEd?
Could there be some setting that is "hiding" those windows?
