I think you're on to something...no bots.
Now you would have to kill a "real" person to win.

Now I gotta work out in MapVoteLA13 how to have maps with different amount of bots or NO bots in some!
There must be a way - I gotta look into this.

I use the BodenX2 mod.
You can setup each map differently.
Some maps have 2 bots other maps 4.
You can add/subtract gravity on certain maps.
You can change bot skill level on certain maps.
Heres a link for it.

Yeah, I have BodenX2, but I have never installed it.
Can you not use parts?
It doesn't explain too much about its use in the readme.
And, it only works for up to 50 maps.
I am going to attempt to try it in MapVoteLA13 sometime soon or when I GET some time!
First thing I am going to do is have a NO Bot column - just for the first test.
If that works, I may try other things.
I will probably leave the No Bot column though with some choice maps in it.

You don't need to use the boden mod for each map.
I have a standard 3 bot max on smaller to med size maps.
Then on larger maps I use the boden mod.
Plus a couple maps are so big I also vary the gravity and the skill set of my bots.
Works pretty good...I currently have over 200 maps and only about 40 use the mod.
And of the mod I only use the "map config" and the "keep it clean" section.

I hate it when some people on redeemer arena servers just camp bot killing and end up winning cause the bots are on novice/average while everyone else was PvP. (Just a random thought )

The install will download everything but you use only what you want.
Like I said, I use the "map config" and the "keep it clean" portion of the mod.

I guess I am missing the part about HOW you don't use all of it.
Do you remove the sections you don't want from the BodenX.ini file? (or what?)

You just don't set something or you set it at a level that can't be reached.
Choose false instead of true.
Also go Server site under "Configure Mutators" and add or subtract
what portion you want to use.
It's easy...and it won't hurt...lol

OK - I am beginning to "see" what you are saying.
"Configure Mutators" <- oh so you can add or take away portions of BodenX this way in the UT menu eh?

Played your server the other night and we played one of those maps without bots.
I think there was 4 of us and without bots it sure cut out on the spraying.
Made you think a little and not just spray at whatever.
We need more maps like that for the better players.

Yes, I am going to employ the use of BodenX2 to create a "NO Bot" Column on MapVote!
Then I will add just the "elite" maps in that column for playing with no bots.

You better hurry before I do it first on my server...
As for the "elite" maps what exactly are you talking about?
If you want my advice, for whatever it's worth, don't pick to big of a map.
Most players (unskilled) don't like the bigger maps.
The pressure or suspense of the hunt is just to much for most people.
They want action...in and out.
Then again it's something to experiment with.

Too late! - It is done! And it works!
CMM Now has the 4th Column in MapVote labeled " NO BOTS Expert Maps"
(actually there is one Bot if you the player are alone - otherwise there are No Bots if there are 2 or more real players)
As for the "elite" maps - just for lack of a better word - maps more suited for experienced players.
The better maps?
Maps more suited for gliding.?!?!
If you want to challenge someone, use the fourth column for Bot Free dueling or just if you ONLY Want REAL Players!
The Fourth Column is for nice leisurely games without annoying bots knowing where you are hiding!
Anyway - I WILL be Developing this further in the hours to come! :D
BUT - it is up and running with the NO BOT Column!

And since you're using the Boden mod I would throw 3 or 4 other maps on the No bot side.
Have the same map on both sides...I see no reason why you can't?

It'll be just a bit more tricky to do.
Right now, Boden looks at ALL the maps no matter what column it is in.
SO, I will have to go in and change the "inner" and "outer" name of the map to something similar but different from the original map's name.
Boden only looks at the "inner" name of a map - UT looks at both.
Then, that map essentially becomes another map in the "eyes" of UT.
So, the map will have to be re-compressed, etc., and added as if it were a new map and named so that it will only show in the "NO BOTS" 4th column - AND (probably) put on the filtered out map list in MapVote to keep it from showing up in the regular columns.
I may just have to add something like {NB} in front of the name (NB for No Bots) or something.
A bit more work, but worth it I think!

I have to laugh...I just played on "another" redeemer server (not yours or mine) and the other "real" player was spawn killing bots.
And he acted like he was "da shitt" because he had more kills (even though he had 10 times more deaths than me).
I called him out and he then wet his pants and left the game.
We need more botless maps...
Then again most people are scared of "real" players.
Can't win for losing...

I agree!
I can see a little Spawn Killing of Real players just for some giggles - But BOTs???
Come ON!
That is just plain STUPID!
When I get SOME time - I'm going to add some more "Favorite" maps in the NO BOTS column on CMM!
Good idea MEAT!

a New Large map...what are you crazy?
Large maps are taboo in the redeemer world.
Only I can be hated for having/using Large redeemer maps.
Players---regulars/old skool wont play because they are
afraid of large "no spray" maps. They'll have to THINK !!!
You'll have people jumping out of windows and quitting UT
because of this.
The next thing you'll do is take away bots.
Or maybe add spawn protection...
What are you thinking....

The New map is called: DM-FunDango (so far - don't even ask - name pulled out of hat or something)
Ran into a slight hitch, but will resolve and push ahead.
It is a pretty large map indeed and so far plays very well.
I can put together some good maps in short order - but nothing real fancy.
Just good redeemer fun maps and interesting too!
I'll probably make a few of these just for some fresh Redeemer maps to play!
More later!
