CROSSBONES MISSILE MADNESS Our UT Server - Information...
The Latest CROSSBONES Server Information can be viewed and read here...

Hook's OWN Server is  UP

Server Name = CROSSBONES MISSILE MADNESS {CMM} (Redeemer)

IP = 74.33.26.7:7757 or (click and join) -> unreal://74.33.26.7:7757

GameTracker Server Info...
Image

Let me know how it works when you play it!
Occasionally my family members are online (in the evening?) and can cause a bit of lag.
We are still tweaking here and there and installing Good Maps, etc!

Stay Tuned!

EDIT: A little info about CMM ...
Mainly, it'll be Redeemer Arena - but Old Skool!
This is using the original mod that Shwantz used on his old server called: Shwantz's Redeemer Arena or SRA.
This redeemer mod does Not allow use of the translocator - a little more macho!
It relies solely on the skill of the shootist in a pure "Missile" combat arena environment.
Due to time, or lack of, I will be adding some things to the server over time.
First, of course was be the Redeemer mod, along with some goodies.
Then, soon, I will add the DM (DeathMatch) part(s).
Most likely the DM arena will have the Zark rifle added to it.
Mapvote has been added in here also.
The NAME of the server May change a bit also.
Stay Tuned! :P

Edit:
The Name for our New UT Game Server is Official ...
"CROSSBONES MISSILE MADNESS {CMM} (Redeemer)" by Hook
Look for it in YOUR UT Browser!
See you there!

Add a translocator as soon as possible...lol
Yeah, it's fun and all but without a translocator you're somewhat
restricted to ground level.
Without a translocator you can't get into windows or atop buildings
like you can on other servers.
EDIT: NOT SO - We have LOW Gravity so you are able to leap to most places in most maps!
So a lot of the maps, although different in appearance, play the same.
But, I understand. That was the way it was in the beginning.
So I give you props for the step back in time.

Yeah, I never really used the translocator in Deemer arena anyways though, so i'm used to this (not saying to base what it is supposed to be on my opinion) guess I'm just newbish at RA :P. Most pro's use it to dodge out of the way lol right MEAT?

Well it's like anything we do...we play with what we're dealt and we adjust accordingly.
Overall the server seemed to run fine.
DM-Deathcamp was a little laggy but I've seen that map laggy on other servers.
DM-Abandonedv1final was acting up so I had to confiscate it.
Ping was a little high for my liking but it didn't hinder my performance.

Well, as far as for my own experience, I DO like to get around.
I have never been a big fan of the trans though, except for getting to normally unreachable places.
I thought of that for the most part - Low Gravity! :P
I would say, off the cuff, that with Low Gravity on, about 95% (or more) of those unreachable positions, are reachable.
I myself feel pretty free to go just about anywhere in most maps, without the trans, with Low Gravity on.
Besides, with the Old Skool Redeemer mutator, you cannot have the translocator even if you want it.
But I'll keep this version of Redeemer Arena to keep my server different from the others. :P

I agree and have similar feelings as you Shadow342. 8)

Yes, the server did better than I expected with 4 and 5 players going at it.
Some said the server was smooth as glass for them.
If there was some lagginess, it was most likely because I was playing ON the Server - both the actual server game and the same computer!
In DM-DeathCamp, it is laggy for me even playing it off line! (with my Old Computer - almost 10 years old)
It was probably MY computer that was causing the lag for any of you players out there!
DM-Abandonedv1final runs very good and smooth for me, even on my old computer.
What problem did you have with that map MEAT?

PS: Thank You BOTH for your comments on our server and our game last night.
It is VERY Good to get people to comment on the server - it helps tremendously!
Note: we had 5 players on for awhile with 4 for about an hour or more. - Great FUN!
The player called "rawkjawk" was a very newbie!
It was his very first time playing redeemer arena and I suspect also that it was one of his first times playing UT also.
He didn't know very much at all and said he was very new at the game let alone redeemer arena.
He didn't even know that the shockwave was what killed players - he thought the missile was what killed you.
He finally figured it out a bit - to keep away from the shockwave so you don't kill yourself every time you shoot.
Also, I don't think he even knew about ride-n-glide yet!

No real problem...A few years ago I added that map to my server and loved it.
Then in the summer of 06 my hard drive crashed and I lost a lot of good maps.
DM-Abandonedv1final was one of them and I could never remember the name of it.
Then that night we played it came up and i was floored...lol
I had to have it for my own...so I borrowing it from you, so to speak.

Oh, that is awesome!
I love it when things "connect" like that!
Glad I could help!
I got a zillion maps, but i just need time to check them out one by one and add them.
I got many maps that I have never even tried out yet. :P

Awesome!
Did the Demo Download with the NoDelta 436 patch work for you then?

The server seems to be running very well!
I hope to see you on her!

Yes, did the Demo & patch work?
I have never tried it myself.

Oh, and yes, we've been having some great server get togethers lately, where 3 or 4 or 5 players going at it!
See YOU there!
When you play the server, more players come and get in the game!
The custom bots sprinkled in here and there seem like real players too for the most part. :P

I'd suggest adding the Pheonix32 mod.
A couple times I've played I crashed for some reason.
Then when reentering the game I had to start over from 0.
Kind of sucks...

Yes, I have been thinking about this mod!
I didn't think it was real necessary though, but low and behold, here is someone that could actually use it!
Of course it isn't old skool, but it is kinda nice.
I just like to keep the mods to a minimum.
The less mods the better to keep the server healthy. :P
I will still think some more on this one though.
It may be nice! :D

PS: you probably crashed because my wife has been intensely using this computer (has the server on it) for internet classes!
She is on most of the time, so it uses up my UT Server bandwidth!!! :(

BTW - Which Demo file did you use from there?

Also...
The latest URL for this is: http://www.ut-files.com/Demo/
It seems to change periodically so the URL goes bad.
Just use the main link and go from there!

Actually, I didn't dl it from the demo folder. A little bit below you should see a UT_Demo folder, that's the one that has the 364 mb demo! :)

OK, that would be the file in UT_Demo folder called...
 UT99-Demo.zip - 341mb it says but is it actually 364mb.
Great - NOW we have the actual NAME of the file!

Oh - I never did tell you...
I installed the Pheonix32 mod back on January 16 2009 - right after you reminded me of it.
I had it in my UT stash but I had forgotten about it until you brought it up.
AND - I forgot to tell you I installed it that day! :P
Let me know if it works - Have you noticed any difference?
